Buckhalter's done for the season

Man, this guy has had some tough breaks. He was apparently practicing very well this year too.

Time to get the rolodex out and look for Dorsey's number... But hopefully we can do a little better. (As Rich Hoffman suggests: http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/12459768.htm)

I guess this means Reno's spot on the roster is that much more secure. How unfortunate.

Yeh, i can't understand why we signed a guy to a longer term deal when he was injured for 2 of his first 3 seasons. I'm trying not to question Big Red's ideas, but this is another one that confuses me.

It was only a 2 year deal, probably at the vet minimum. And I wouldn't think that much of it, if any, would be guaranteed, would it?

I was going to ask you that - anyone know the answer?

I'm sure Eskin does. (Or at least he'll tell you the answer regardless).

Woah, according to Spadaro, "If you were to take it purely, right now, as Westbrook/Levens/Mahe vs. Westbrook/Ryan Moats/Mahe, boy, that's a tough one."

I read that and thought, am I missing something here? Why the HELL would Mahe be a constant in that equation?

Then Spads went on to explain, "They could go into the season with Westbrook, Moats and Mahe -- or Bruce Perry, if Perry beats out Mahe in these final two weeks of the preseason. At this point, Mahe gets the nod based on his versatility and the fact that he's had a fine preseason."

Okay, I must REALLY be missing something. I guess being "versatile" simply means that you try a lot of positions, even if you're awful at every one of them.

Backs to bargain for:
Larry Johnson - KC
Anthony Thomas - Dal
Najeh Davenport - GB
William Green - Clev
Artose Pinner - Det
Nick Goings - Car
Lamar Gordon - Mia
Adrian Peterson - Chi
All are buried in their perspective depth charts. In Philly they may get a chance to play a lot more!
